Description
For those looking for a challenging ride with great scenery, this route features a hilly profile, including several big climbs, and travels the backroads of Kennesaw, Cartersville, and Acworth. The ride starts and ends in the Kennesaw Mtn visitor center parking lot, where ample parking, water, and restroom accommodations are provided. A trip up the mountain is optional, as the trip will later include (shorter) climbs up Lead and Red Top Mountains. Be prepared to enjoy sights including dilapidated old barns and pastures, as well as bridge crossings along the shores of Lake Alatoona. One should also be prepared to ride safely in traffic. Areas where special caution is needed are marked on the map, along with general areas of interest, so please be sure to read all the map markings.
