![]() | Virginia Highland to Emory - 2.03 Miles
Description: This is a pleasant route for anyone going to Emory from Virgin/Highland or Midtown. Posted By: Bike Guy |
![]() | Georgia Tech to Little Five Points - 4.86 Miles
Description: A nice ride from the Georgia Tech campus to Little Five Points. The majority of the ride takes place on two streets - Marietta and Edgewood. While Marietta can be a little intimidating at times with some high-speed traffic, it's one redeeming quality is that it takes you to Edgewood very quickly. This is truly a good thing, for the majority of Edgewood is an excellent road to ride on, from moderate traffic to bike lanes, and a pretty scenic landscape, to boot. And Euclid is just hands down a peaceful ride. From the intersection of Euclid and Moreland, you can head further east into Candler Park, or even a bit further to Decatur. ![]() | Coffee Crawl - 15.18 Miles
Description: This loop passes by 10 of Atlanta's best (non commercial conglomerate) coffee houses, all of which boast top notch roasts, and great atmosphere. It works well as a leisurely ride, as it features mildly rolling hills. The course winds through quaint, historic neighborhoods around the Highlands and Little 5 Points area, then delves into the urban cityscape, passing by Centennial Olympic Park and Underground Atlanta. Overall, a great route to show your fiends around town...or just to get your daily caffeine buzz. Posted By: David Green |
![]() | Intown to the Silver Comet - 15.87 Miles
Description: Don't want to have to drive your car just to get to a good riding spot? Well here's a fun ride out to the Silver Comet trailhead that ventures through the hilly roads of Northwest Atlanta/Vinings. The many old bridges and creeks located along this end of the trail are what make the ride out there particularly rewarding. Not to mention, the ride fits nicely into a training regimen, as additional "Comet miles" can be tacked on at will. Posted By: David Green |
![]() | Westside Training Loop - 18.58 Miles
Description: Good, medium difficulty road training loop in west Buckhead of about 20 miles. From east side, can ride on 10th or 17th across to Howell Mill, go north to Defoor to begin. Lots of good roads can be found by exploring off this route. Posted By: Frank Marrs |
![]() | Inman Railyard Loop - 19.61 Miles
Description: This ride has a bit of everything: Piedmont Park, Midtown, the 17th Street bridge, a biking trail, gritty industrial areas, the Georgia Tech campus, and a great coffee shop. If you've never seen the Inman Rail Yard, I think you'll be amazed by how large it is. Give it a try! Posted By: mrbill |
![]() | Decatur to Stone Mountain - 20.21 Miles
Description: This is a pretty easy ride (even though it's twenty plus miles long)because it's mostly flat. It's also reasonably safe since a lot of it is on bike path. Moreover, you don't have to ride the whole route if you don't want to. You can go out as far as you want, then turn around. It's a good beginner ride. Posted By: Bike Guy |
![]() | Downtown to Kennesaw Mountain Commute - 22.76 Miles
Description: This is a commuter route from downtown to Kennesaw. Lots of traffic in sections but the best way to get home if you live in the Kennesaw area. Posted By: Joe Blessing |
![]() | Red Top Mountain Roundabout - 53.55 Miles
Description: For those looking for a challenging ride with great scenery, this route features a hilly profile, including several big climbs, and travels the backroads of Kennesaw, Cartersville, and Acworth. The ride starts and ends in the Kennesaw Mtn visitor center parking lot, where ample parking, water, and restroom accommodations are provided. A trip up the mountain is optional, as the trip will later include (shorter) climbs up Lead and Red Top Mountains. Be prepared to enjoy sights including dilapidated old barns and pastures, as well as bridge crossings along the shores of Lake Alatoona. One should also be prepared to ride safely in traffic. Areas where special caution is needed are marked on the map, along with general areas of interest, so please be sure to read all the map markings. Posted By: David Green |
